This three weekend event, put on by The Saratoga Builders Association every year for the past 18 years, is one of the best “house touring” events in the area. The showcase opens newly built homes and condos by local builders, allowing them and designers to, of course, showcase their talents. It’s a great way for the public to get ideas for their own homes, whether you want to see the latest trends and design ideas in person (it all looks great on HGTV and in magazines, but how does it look in real life??) or to “shop” around for builders, interior designers, and landscapers, if you are in the market.

The Showcase runs this weekend, next weekend (Sept. 28th and 29th), and the first weekend in October (Oct. 5th and 6th) from 11- 5 PM, so there is plenty of time to catch this great fall weekend activity. Tickets are $20.

Tonight is the Showcase Chef’s Event, “Comforts of Home”, from 5:00 to 10:00 PM. For $40 a ticket, you get to take the tour and enjoy tastings by the areas best chefs and restaurants. For a preview of the menus, you can find them here. Proceeds from this event will benefit Rebuilding Together Saratoga and Habitat for Humanity of Northern Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties.

This is the pool at Old Stone Ridge... jealous? Because I am! And yes, that is VERMONT in the distance, people!

I would have gotten you all more photos of this gorgeous house, but I don’t want to spoil the surprise- go see it for yourselves! Plus, it was the day before judging and if you think everything is done a week before, it’s not. This is the third showcase home Silverwood has done the art for and everyone- builders, landscapers, kitchen designers, interior designers, art stylists– everyone- is all hands on deck up until the last hour. And then some. But it all comes together and looks fabulous every time! Cheers!

Also, after the Showcase, the Double H Hole in the Woods Ranch is hosting a Tuscan Evening at John Witt’s new house on Old Stone Ridge. I went to the last one and it was a great evening out (and benefit’s the Ranch, of course!). Here’s the info!
