A few weeks back, I mentioned the island of Anna Maria, Florida as a fun, cute place to visit. It also happens to be pretty popular with Saratogians and Boltonians, for such a small island. Mom and I went to a quirky cafe/ vintage store/ gift store/ I’m not sure what to call it, this morning. Ginny and Janee’s is eclectic and charming- quaint homemade children’s clothing and pet toys are mixed with vintage furniture, artwork by what I assume are local artists, and a hodgepodge of knickknacks. Not everything is on my “covet” list, but I appreciate the fact that a place like this exists. It’s just fun! (And the food ain’t bad either.) We had a simple but yummy breakfast at one of their family- style tables that are interspersed with all the retail goods, shelves of old books, and people reading the paper on couches. The place gives the feeling that it’s just a nice spot for the community to come catch up with one another. Also, the chandeliers are really cute. (FYI- the bizarre little wooden shoe/ Chinese Junk above is actually a lamp… for some reason I kind of love it).

A mermaid floor lamp.
